WEATHER FORECAST.
rOR CITT AMD PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to aa far south aa Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— Light to moderate and variable winds, north-westerly prevailing at first but later backing to sou trier! y. Weather cloudy to overcast and ati times misty, with scattered ahowers or drizzling rain. Temperatures becoming cooler. Seas smooth to moderate. Though atill relatively low to the. west of the North Island, pressure has gradually risen over the Dominion, and especially the South Island. An anti-cyclone covers the south-west Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day: The indications are for northwesterly variable and moderate breezea prevailing shortly and backing by west to south. Expect dull weather, with much mist and fog in parts; acattered showers or misty rain is to be expected and cooler weather. The barometer has a rising tendency. Seas smooth to moderate. HAIMAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf waa received from Timiri Island at noon to-day:^— Wind, south-south-west, light: sea, smooth; weather, fine and clear, with scattered clouda; visibility, good: barometer, steady. " '
