COUNTRY HOTEL ON FIRE.
GOOD SAVE BY BRIGADE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CARTERTON, this day. Fire broke out in the Foresters' Arms Hotel at Greytown about ten o'clock this morning, but fortunately was discovered early and the brigade wag able to subdue the outbreak. The fire started in an upstairs bed- | room. The brigade was delayed by the j failuip of the alarm bell to operate, but on arrival did excellent work, confining the actual fire damage to the upper storey. All the ground floor was J drenched with water, but the liquor I stocks were not damaged.
