The Rev. D. T. Thomas, aged 60, of < Ircenville, Pennsylvania, knelt in prayer ill a cell of the local gaol while his congregation peered through the liars.
he night before the parson had telephoned the police: "Come right awav. "ring a couple of men. I may need you." At his house fhe police found the bodies of his wife, aged 44, with her head hcaten in, and his handyman, Frank Hodge (05), shot through the h"ad.
I he parson said: '"What cannot, Imj prevented must he endured." lie then quietly strlmitted he had shot "the other man" in his wife's life, and beaten her to death with the butt of a gun. "Take ine away. I'm ready for you," lie said.
