PROGRESS CLUB.
There was a good attendance of members at the Women's Progress Club iccently for the annual business meeting. Mrs. Charles Dickens presided. The secretary's yearly report showed a steady increase in membership. The election of officers, for li).' 18 resulted: — President. Mrs. Charles Dickens, vicepresident. Mrs. r. fl. Pierre; treasurer. Airs. Green: secretary. Mrs. Stewart; assistant and reporting secretary, Mrs. James Gates; pianists, Mrs. Morten and Mrs. Clarkson; door hostess and committee members, Mesdames Pierce, Lewin. Gates. Clarkson. Morris. Gaughan! Xeave, Sturgess. Parks, Horlev and Chambers; afternoon tea hostesses, Mesdames Green. Hubbert and Deveriek.
