WEATHER FORECAST.
1 FOB CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist Issued to the "Auckland Star" this > afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— Moderate to strong north-easterly winds, in places reaching gale force. Weather cloudy to overcast and at times misty. Rain is probable, with heavy falls, in places. Temperatures mild to warm. Seas rough on the east coast and smooth to moderate but later increasing on the west coast. Barometers have risen in southern New Zealand, but a shallow cyclone has been advancing towards northern New Zealand, and its centre is located this morning between Norfolk Island and Cape Maria van Oiemen. Pressure is low also over the central Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong north-east to easterly winds, freshening to gale in places. Expect dull weather, with much mist and fog in parts; heavy rain probable in places. The barometer has a falling tendency. Seas rough. HAtfRAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf waa received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-dey;— Wind, north-east, strong; tea. rough; weather, misty rain; visibility, , poor; barometer, falling. i
