MR. MERRY TO STAND AGAIN. (From Our Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Friday. Mr. J. T. Merry, of Opotiki, who contested the Bay of Plenty seat at the last general election, has announced his intention of standing at the next election in the interest of the National Party. At the general election in 1935 the results were:—A. G. Hultquist (Labour), 3519; J. T. Merry (National), 2964; H. L. Harker (Democrat), 1626; majority for Hultquist, 555.
