DAISY CHAIN CLUB.

Mrs. Lord presided over a fair gathering of members at the club rooms yesterday, when n blight afternoon was spent. The speaker for the day was Mr. (rooks, of the Fire Brigade, who gave an instructive address on "Fire Prevention." Two visitors welcomed in the afternoon were Mesdames F. Walker and Beta MacCulley. who rendered song*. accompanied by Mrs. Cough. A novelty prize was won by Mrs. Colling*. Hostesses for the day were Mesdames Whiteman, Tierney. Boyee, sen., and !•'. Cooper. At the sixteenth fortnightly dance and cards h"ld recently there was a record at tend.'rice, and a most enjoyable eveninir was spent by all. Good fiance music was played by Mr*. Dye. with Mr. Mori l!obert<on at the drums, and as usual Mr. W. Hogg proved an excellent master of ceremonies. The lucky numbers were won by Mrs. Boyce, sen., and Mr. Hudson. while a novelty prize winner was Mr. Arndt. Those "winning the Monte Carlo.and mock Monte Carlo waltzes were Miss Colling* and Mr. Moneur and Mrs. Picknel and Mr. K. I3.»rfor>t. The .",00 card tournament organised by Mrs. Home was well attended, the prizewinners being Mrs. Whiteman, Miss Fugill, Mrs. Bovce, sen.. Mr. Hudson and Mr. Ramsay.
