METHODIST HEALTH CAMP.
OFFICIAL OPENING. The official opening of the children's health camp, conducted at Campbell's Bay by the Methodist Central Mission, which was postponed last year on account of the infantile paralysis epidemic, will be performed by the Governor-General, Lord* Galway, and Ladv Galwav on December 11.
In all, 303 children have received treatment during the year. In the summer [>eriod 230 children were treated, and during the winter 70 have been in residence. Two-thirds of this number were of class C physique, and all were of families who would not, in the ordinary course of events, have been able to afford a holiday at the seaside. Those who are now at the camp will return home to-dav.
During the past year the sum of £3000 has l>een expended on buildings, and general improvements to the extent of £1000 have been carried out in the last two months. Voluntary workers have done much work about the camp, and throughout the whoie of the winter the camp has been gratuitously conducted by Mrs. t. Howie.
Sister Lenna, who has had considerable experience in Melbourne and Dunedin. will take over control of the cartip on Boxing Day, when the first of six batches of 00 children will be taken to Campbell's Bay.
