There wns little activity on 'Change this morning, nnrl only moderate business was recorded at the first call. Fresh bidding disclosed an easing in Australian industrials. Broken Hill Proprietary changed hands (VI lower, at £2 10, 3, and Electrolytic Zincs were quoted lower. The ordinary shares were on otter at £2 0,0. with no buyers, while the preferences had a market between £2 7 0 and £2 8/. Mount Lye lls had a reported sale unchanged at ill 11 !), but at the calf buyers dropped back to £ 1 10 9, with sellers prepared to take £ 1 lit}. Mount Morgans were steady, with further business at 11/5 *nd later ((notations from 11,4 to 11/3.

The banking section was dull, with New Zealands the steadiest of the lot.

Weakness in breweries continued. Dominions were on sale at £2, with no buyers, and New Zealands had a market between £2 4 ti and £2 0/. Australian (Hass were closer to business, witli quotations from £4 4 (1 to £4 ■">/, and buyers for Hycrofts moved up to £'2 1, 3 without attracting holders. Woolworths (Sydney I and Electrolytic Zinc showed a drop in value in each case. Strength in local loan and agency shares contrasted with the general weakness.
