REPEAL TURNED DOWN. | Advice has been received by the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce from the Associated Chambers that in respect to its representation to the Prime Minister to have the Electoral Act, 1027, amended to repeal the provision relating to a half holiday on general electioin day the Right Hon. M. .T. Savage had replied that, "for very good reasons" it had been decided not to take the action suggested by the Associated Chambers.
