('From Onr Own Correspondent.)

SUVA, November 20. When Lady Marks, wife of the Hon. Sir Henry Marks, C.8.E., enjoyed her favourite drive around Suva's beauty spots on Tuesday afternoon no one ever dreamed that her funeral would follow on the following day. While she had been in delicate health for years no one expected that death was 'So near. She passed away quietly in her sleep during early Wednesday morning. Her husband, who is very, frail, was not advised of her demise until later in the day. The death occasioned a great shock'to her friends as well as to the public, with whom she was a great favourite by reason of her kindly manner and general care for the poor and suffering. All her life Lady Marks had been prominent in well doing. At {he age of 74 she leaves bfehfnd her a memory, fragrant with deeds quietly executed, and kindly thoughts and smiles for all. She leaves her husband (who is now unable to get about, and who was unable to attend his wife's funeral), two sons and four daughters. Born in Melbourne, the daughter of the late Mr. Joseph Abrahams, of Carlton, she was married to the then Mr. Marks in 1883. The jubilee of their wedding was celebrated in Suva a few years ago. The funeral on Wednesday afternoon was very largely attended, the service being conducted by the Bishqp in .Polynesia.
