The New Education Fellowship movement has been advanced another stage at Auckland. Since the conference in June steady progress has been made with organisation, ao that to-day there are 12 flourishing groups meeting regularly, and with an active membership of nearly 150. At a meeting this week, presided over by Profeseor Fitt, chair•nian of the provisional committee, about 100 members were present. Dr. C. E. Beeby, director of the New Zealand Council for Educational Bcsearch, and national secretary for the recent conference, was also present, and he stated that it was hoped to publish the proceedings of the conference in February or March next. More than 2400 .copies had been ordered.
The hon. secretary, Mr. C. L. Gilliee, stated that there were now over 100 financial members mainly working in groups, and additional groups were rapidly forming. Supplies of suitable publications for study and general reading had now been received and were available to members. A short statement of what the groups are, how they are formed and what they do had been prepared and was being distributed. The main discussion of the evening centred round the plane for future organisation.
