PRICES IN WELLINGTON
Prices of fruit, vegetables and other produce in the Wellington markets this week are quoted as follows:— .
Apples.—Delicious, 4/ to 10/ per bushel case; Stunners, 5/ to 10/. Passion fruit, choice, 20/ to 33/6 per half-case. Pears.—Winter Coles, 7/ to 15/ per three-quarter ease; Winter XfJis, 6/ to 13/; cookers, 6/ to 9/.
Plums.—Bronze, 6/6 to 7/6 per half-case. Lemons.—4/ to 8/ per bushel. Strawberries.—Nelson, 6d to 1/4 per punnet. Cherries, 8/ to 15/ per quartercase. Grapefruit, New Zealand, 4/ to 6/ per bushel case. Tomatoes.—Hothouse, 8d to 1/1% per lb; Nelson, 14/6 to 20/ per case. Beans: Hothouse, 1/ to 1/4 per lb. Gooseberries, 3d to 5d per lb. Kumaras, 4/ per sugar bag. Cucumbers.—Hothouse, 6/ to 14/ per dozen; outside, 14/ to 15/ per half-case. New potatoes, 2d to 2V4d per lb. Peas, 6/ to 13/ per eack. Asparagus, 4d to 8d per bunch.
Cauliflowers, 1/ to 3/ per sack. Cabbage, 6d to 2/6 per case. Lettuce, 6d to 2/6 per case. Spinach, 6d to 3/6 per case. Swedes, spring, 2Hd to 6d per bunch. Carrots, spring, 3d to 8d per bunch. Parsnips, spring, 5d to 1/ per bunch. Beetroot, 2d to 6d per bunch. Rhubarb, 4/ to 8/ per dozen bunches. Walnuts, 8d to 10d per lb. Eggs.—A grade, 1/6 per dozen; medium, 1/5.
