Mr. L. D. Nathan left Auckland for Wellington by the Limited express last night.
Mr. A. Turner was a passenger by the afternoon express from Wellington yesterday.
Sir John Reed and Lady Reed left by the Limited express for Wellington last night. The Hon. J. Alexander, M.L.C.. left for Wellington by the Limited express last night. Mr. P. A. Hillary, of Kemuera, has been re-elected chairman of the New Zealand Honey Control Board. Colonel J. Barclay will leave for Whangarei to-morrow. He ■will be accompanied by Mrs. Barclay.
Sir Donald McGavin returned to Wellington by the Limited express last night after a short visit to Auckland. Mr. W. Bromley, of the Labour Department, was a passenger by the Limited express for Wellington last night.
Mr. S. X. Ziman has been appointed Commissioner of Boy Scouts in the Hamilton district in succession to Mr. W. H. Allen.
Mr. W. A. Boucher, managing director of Spedding, Ltd., arrived in Auckland by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. Dr. C. H. Tewsley has been appointed chairman of the medical etaff and a member of the executive of the St. John Ambulance Association.
Professor J. Shelley, Director of Broadcasting, leaves by the Limited express for Wellington to-night after a short visit to Auckland.
Sir Francis Frazer, deputy-chairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, leaves for Wellington by the Limited express to-night. Mr. H. L Austad, of Wellington, chairman of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, is visiting Auckland and is at the Grand Hotel. Dr. C. E. Beeby, director of the New Zealand Council for Educational Research, is a passenger by the Limited express for Wellington to-night. Mr. A. W. Croskery, employees' member of the newly-created second Arbitration Court, was a passenger by the Limited express from Wellington yesterday.
Mr. D. H. Todd, managing director of Todd Motors, Ltd., was a passenger by the Limited express from Wellington this morning. He was accompanied Tiiy Mrs. Todd. *
Mr. H. B. Riggs, who for the past 12 years has been secretary and director of the Goldberg Advertising Agency, Ltd., has been appointed general manager of the company for New Zealand. Viscount Coke, eldest son of the Earl of Leicester, and a former major of the Scots Guards, is due to arrive in Auckland by the Orford on December 23. Hβ ie accompanied by his daughter, the Hon. Mary Coke.
Mr. Justice Blair and Mrs. Blair, who were in London for the Coronation celebrations, were to leave England last Saturday by the New Zealand Star. The vessel is to call at Australia before reaching New Zealand on Januarv 10.
Sir John Cherry, C.1.E., a former member of the Burma Legislative Council, who has a distinguished record as a barrister, is a passenger by the Orford, which is due at Auckland'on December 23. He is accompanied by Lady Cherrv.
