MAYOR OF CITY.
MEETING OF CITIZENS.
REQUEST TO SIR E. DAVIS.
A unanimous desire was expressed at a meeting of citizens yesterday that a representative deputation should wait on Sir Ernest Davis at an early date to ask him again to offer his services as Mayor of Auckland. •
It was the feeling of the meeting , that during his term of office Sir Ernest had given great satisfaction to every section of the community, and that all institu-' tions and organisations should be asked to join in the deputation. The. fact was particularly stressed that the movement to approach Sir Ernest wae a citizens' movement only, and the hope was expressed that all institutions and organisations, whether professional, business. Labour, social or eports, would co-operate. It wae decided to issue invitations to those various organisations to join in the deputation. Mr. G. B. Osmond was appointed honorary secretary of the deputation.
