WARD CONFERENCE.

DAIRY REPRESENTATIVES. (From Our Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Wednesday. A dairy ward conference attended by representatives of the Bay of Plenty, Katikati, Opotiki, Opouriao, Rangitaiki Plains, Te Kaha, Tauranga and Waimana factories was held in Whakatane yesterday. The chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Board, Mr. A. J. Murdoch, reviewed the board's activities during the past year. Several remits from other wards for the annual ward conference were discussed.

Mr. W. A. McCracken, of the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company, referred to a proposal for the payment of a premium on the winter production of butter and cheese. A motion in this direction was carried.

Mr. F. W. Keam. of the Tauranga Dairy Company, urged that greater attention should be paid to cream flavours. Research should be pursued in the Bay of Plenty as well as in the Waiknto.

It was decided to urge the extension of jeseerch to the Bay of Plenty.
