LIBEL IN FILM.
Russian Prince's Suit Against
Hollywood Studio.
ENGLISH ACTION SETTLED.

LONDOX, November 15.
The libel action brought by Prince Chegodieff, formerly of the Russian Imperial Court, agahwt Me-tro-Goklwyn-Mayer Studios in respect of their talkie film "Rasputin, the Mad Monk" (released in New Zealand ae "Rasputin and the Empress"), hae been settled. Thie wae the second libel action oaueed by the film. Four years ago Prince and Princess Youseoupoff were awarded £25,000 damages by the London Court*.
Mr. Norman Birkett. for Prince and Princews Oliegodieff, said the film had purported to jiortray the life and ar*ia«sination of Kaeputin. The plaintiffs' namee had been linked with characters allegedly implicated in Rasputin's murder. Researches had cleared the plaintiffs of the imputation*.
Defendants regretted that the namee Imd been used inadvertently, a.nd expressed rejjret for the pain and distress caused to Prince and Princees Olwgodieff.
