The diplomatic correspondent of the "Daily Herald" says General Franco's agent, the Duke of Alba, will discuss immediately with the British Foreign Office the restoration of the monarchy with Don Juan Carlos, ex-King Alfonso's youngest ! son, as a "peacemaking King."

The Duke, who has influential friends in London, is said to have assured General Franco that if he was offered restoration of the monarchy in addition to the withdrawal of volunteers he would secure very strong diplomatic support from Britain.

The Paris correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says there is considerable activity among Spanish monarchists in France. A plan has been prepared to place Don Juan on the throne.

The diplomatic correspondent of the "Daily Sketch" says that in spite of denials it is reliably reported that Senor Negrin, Spanish Prime Minister, is coming to London to negotiate truce terms. General Franco's officere met Government representatives at a wayside restaurant at Hendaye to discuss an armistice.
