OXFORD CONFERENCE.
CHURCHES OF THE WORLD. ADDRESS BY MISS E. LAW. An illuminating address on the subject "The Churches of the World in Conference at Oxford" wa»s given under the auspices of the Council of Christian Congregations in thp Y.W.C.A. assembly hall yesterday afternoon by ili.~s Kthei Law. M.A., one of the delegates from Canada at the Oxford conference, who
has since, returned to Xew Zealand to be national secretary of the Young Women's Christian Association. The Rev. E. D. Patchett presided.
Miss Law gave an intimate insight into the comprehensive nature of the international gathering, which extended over two weeks, as well as interesting word pictures of world leaders whose advanced thinking contributed to the understanding of problems which face the Christian Church. The speaker said the conference resulted in a clearer conception of the true meaning of the Christian Church and its'mission, and in a greater feeling of hope for its future influence. An enthusiastic vote of thanks, was accorded Miss Law for her interesting address.
