LONDON, November 12.

The death has occurred of George Sheringham, artist, aged 53. He .was scenic designer for many London plays, including many Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas, "Othello," "The Lady of the Camellias," "The Toy-maker of Nuremberg," "The Hundred Days," and "Twelfth Night" (at Stratford-on-Avon). He decorated many well-known mansions and ballrooms of London and Paris.
