POLICE COURT.
TWO CASES REMANDED. A brief sitting of the Police Court this morning was presided over by Messrs. M. Copeland and John Donald, J.P.'s. A butcher. Alfred Burgess, aged 25, I was charged that on July 10 he obtained i from the Farmer*' Trading Company a | carpet and runner, valued at £17 7/0, by i a false representation. Burgess, for whom Mr. B. Elwarth appeared, was remanded until November 19 on Itail of £100. A charge rtf stealing €>/, the property of Eliza Annie Scott, was preferred against Wilfred Henry Arnold Cronin, i a labourer, aged 2(i. On Detective-Sergeant Nalder's application Cronin was remanded until November 17. Bail, £25, was allowed.
