POLICE MAKE RAID.
ALLEGED GAMING HOUSE. THREE MEN 1 CAUGHT. —"— m Three men, a Chinese and two Euro- g.|. pea lis, who were arrested when police executed a search warrant on an alleged ■ |j| gaming house in Fergusson Street last ,|g night, appeared in the Police Court to- * day. Lim Lee. for whom Mr. Dickson appeared, was charged with using the premises a* a common gaming house. On Mr. Dickson's application wts remanded to ap]>ear next Friday.! Bail .Q was extended. Pleas of guilty were entered by Frank Ellis (02). and George Haydon Smith i (.>(»). charged with being found in * i common gaming house. Sub-Inspector Fox said both men had | been found by the police marking pake- .j| poo tickets. Ellis, who was in employ- jj nient, had no money on him. but Smith, i who was on sustenance, had £7 5/ ® his possession. Each was fined £3. "Europeans have no right in such places.'' remarked the magistrate.
