DIVORCE ACTIONS.
DESERTION PROVED. Three petitions for divorce based on the ground of desertion were heard by Mr. Justice Callan in the Supreme Court and in each case the petitioner was successful. Reginald Follas (Mr. Allan Moody) was granted a decree nisi on lii« petition against Grace Annie Follas. The parties were married in February, 1920, and in May, 1034, said petitioner, his wife left him for no reaeon at all. • "This m one of those peculiar divorces, gopd in New Zealand, but of no validity outside New Zealand," said his Honor in;granting a decree nisi to Edna Miriam Edward* <Mr. Allan Moody) in her petition against Keith Napier Edwards. Petitioner said she married respondent in March/1922, and in November, 1928, he, left her ostensibly"to go on a .six weeks' visit to Australia. Since then he had not returned to her. She knew of no reason why M' deserted her. Haeel Lillian Dendy (Mr. Singer) was successful in her petition against Arthtir. Robert Dendy. Petitioner said she was married in January, 1919, and in 1929 her husband left her. In November of 1925 an order for restitution of conjugal rights had been made, but her husband had not. complied with it. In 1920 shc> filed a; petition for divorce, but tlie respondent, disappeared and she had not been able to aiwprtain his whereabouts until a feW month* ago. He was over-80 years of age and ehe now knew he *a»" in Australia.
