FORMAL OBJECTION.
BIG BUILDING LOAN.
HOSPITAL EXTENSIONS. (From Our Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Thursdav. The Wellington City Council yesterday decided to make formal objection to the Hospital Board's proposed applifor an additional loan of to meet the increased cost of building extensions, which include additions to the nurses' home and the erection of an acute hospital block and a new boilerhouse. "It is becoming too unwieldy and I consider there should be a hospital in the Hiitt Valley," said Mr. W. Appleton. suggesting that the council should ohject to the proposed loan. "I may say that other local bodies are moving on similar lines." he added. What is the use of objecting when the matter is practically decided, the Local Government Loans Board and the Health Department .having agreed?" asked Mr. T. Brindle. "The money is not spent vet," said the Mayor. Mr. T. C. A. Hisl'op. The cost of the nurses' home worked out at about £600 a nurse, he added. It was decided to make a formal objection and ask to be heard.
