NEW HOTEL PLANNED.
(From Our Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Thursday. Plans for a new hotel to replace the present Whakatane Hotel were referred to to-day by Sir Ernest Davis, managing director of Hancock and Company. The new building will have a frontage of 154 ft to the Strand and 110 ft to George Street, with five shops on the Strand frontage, and will be partly constructed on the site of the present building. There will be accommodation for a large number of guests. Tenders will be called next week, and the building will be in hand before Christmas.
