PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE.
NOSTHCOTE WOMEN'S ACTIVITIES. At the Armistice Day meeting of the Northcote Women's Progressive League two verses of the National Anthem were sung, and members stood in silence for two minute*. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Hugh Kaspar. The president, Mrs. Archie Campbell, occupied the chair, and welcomed Mrs. F. G. Leonard as a new member. A letter of sympathy is to be forwarded to Mrs. S. W. Brooker on the death of her brother at Christchurch. A message of farewell was received from Mrs. F. W. Wilkes, a former president, prior to sailing for England to join her husband, the Kev. F. W. Wilkes, at Gloucestershire. Mre. A. Campbell reported on matters connected with the Wilson Home for Crippled Children. The Guy Fawkes evening given to the children was attended by Mrs. R. Martin and Mrs. A. Campbell. The suggestion was made to the Victoria League that the local sport* bodies l>e requested to take up the collection for the Life Saving and Surf Clubs and the Navy and Victoria i Leagues.
