SCOTT'S GRAVE.
ANTARCTIC SEARCH.
EXPEDITION FROM ENGLAND.
TWO SHIPS AMD A TIAHE. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. A search for the grave of Captain Scott and hie companions is to begin early next year, according to Mr. James Bowers, who has just arrived from England on a brief visit to New Zealand. Mr. Bowers, who is a cousin of Lieutenant Henry Bowers, who was one of Scott'e southern party, all of whom died early in 1912, reports that Mr. E. W. Walker, who wa* formerly an officer in the Royal Air Force, has done exploration work in the Arctic regions, and was a member of the geological expedition which went to James Bay, ia to lead the new southern venture. The ship which will carry the expedition, Mr. Bowers says, is the 2000-ton Westward, a four-masted vessel fitted with an auxiliary engine, and which ie being specially equipped for Antarctic work. She is to make a world cruise and will carry some passengers in addition to the band of explorers. Her final port will be Lyttelton, where she will be joined by a smaller vessel which will ship stores and an aeroplane, which is reported as likely to be a Bellanca. Probably they will make a base at Wood Bay, after which they will visit Ross Island, where it planned to occupy the huts built by Shackleton. The aeroplane will make a survey flight over Queen Victoria Land, and will pass over the spot where Scott and hi» last companions died after Oates had walked out into the blizzard and left them. An rffort will be made to locate the cairn which was raised over the bodies. It is calculated that at the rate of southerly drift of the ice barrier this cnirn is now probably about 20 miles bouth of its original position.
