BON VOYAGE.

MR. WYVERN WILSON, S.M.

PATRIOTIC SOCIETIES' TRIBUTE.

Opportunity was taken by members of the Royal Empire Society, Navy League and Overseas League, at a special meeting to-day, to bid bon voyage to Mr. Wyvern Wilson. S.M., who lias retired from the magisterial bench and who is shortly leaving on a visit to England. Mr. Wilson is chairman of the council of the Royal Empire Society in Auckland.

The speakers were Mr. Justice Callan, president in Auckland of the Royal Empire Society; Colonel C. R. Spragg, vice-president; Mr. C. H. T. Palmer, president of the Navy League; Mr. C. M. Rattray, chairman of the Overseas League; and Mrs. J. B. Macfarlane, chairman of the Victoria League. They referred to the good work done by Mr. Wilson, both on the Bench and among patriotic societies in Auckland.

Replying, Mr. Wilson said it was gratifying to him to hear from people whose opinions counted for something, appreciation of the work of magistrates. He thought that the time had arrived when the patriotic' societies should all be located in one building. The joint societies could then have a common meeting place and co-operate in the various activities in which they were interested.
