A message Trom Rome says an official announcement states that the Russian Ambassador, M. Stein, called on the Italian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, and indicated that Russia considered that Italy's adherence to the Anti-Communist Pact was contrary to the agreement between Russia and Italy of 1933, and regarded the signature of the pact as an unfriendly act. Italy does not intend to reply to ' Russia's protest against her participa- | tion in the Anti-Coniniunist Pact, as she | regards the treaty with Russia already as a dead letter partly owing to Russian sanctions during the Abyssinian dispute. ] The Rome correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says Russian and other foreign diplomats believe the Soviet will sever diplomatic relations | with Italy and repudiate the ItaloRussian agreement.
