CRICKET CONTROL.
Cricketers throughout New Zealand have decided, on the initiative of the Wellington Association, to put on record their appreciation of the great work for the game done by Mr. A. T. Donnelly, who is retiring from the chairmanship of the Cricket Council after having filled that office for ten years. Cricket in New Zealand has been fortunate in the choice of its executives, men of high character and outstanding ability having directed the progress of the game. None has shown higher qualities than Mr. Donnelly, and players throughout the Dominion will feel a sense of personal loss in his retirement. For over thirty years ho has assisted the Council, and during that period he has won the friendship cit cricketers in every part of the country. 1 nder his chairmanship the game har made steady progress, and his efforts to improve the standard of the game by pitting' our ■ "n against teams from overseas have been .particularly well appreciated bv cricket lovers. | Mr. Donnelly's retirement will be regretted by [cricketers from Auckland to Invercargill.
