(Ircat regret was expressed at the biennial conference of delegates to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council at the announcement that Mr. A. T. Donnelly had decided to retire from the management committee.

Mr. Donnelly has been chairman for the past ten years, and ha* been on the committee since he was 21 years old.

Mr. <'. Bell, the Wellington delegate, said that his association had circularised the other associations, and it had been decided to give Mr. Donnelly a present from the cricketers of the Dominion in acknowledgment of his greut services to the game. The present would be a tall, standing clock.

Mr. Donnelly said that he was retiring liecause he considered that the position of chairman of the management committee was one that should change hands. He had been more than repaid for his time and trouble by the, good progress that the game had made in the Dominion. He was grateful for the way that the cither meniliers of the committee had worked with him, also to the officers of the association and the minor associations. His knowledge and eontacts with (teople overseas would alwaVH lie available to his successors.

Mr. Donnelly, who is a King's Counsel, last year declined appointment to the Supreme Court Bench, but retained office as Crown Prosecutor at Christchurch. He is chairman of directors of the Hank of New Zealand.
