PROGRESSIVE CLUB.
Witches, laughing cats, owls and all things connected with Hallowe'en adorned the room of the Progressive Club, Y.W.C.A., when the members held a successful Hallowe'en night for their friends. Witches greeted the members and guests in real witch etyl® and presented them with their fortune and charms. During the evening Mrs. Margaret Cooper gave t'ro song numbers, accompanied by Miss Cooper at the piano. Competitions arranged by Mrs. Rogers were won by Mi#s Seoble, Mrs. Bragg, Mrs. Jackson and Miss I. Morris. The lucky witch number, arranged by Mrs. Wallace, was won by Miss Rankin. The midnight witches' walk, arranged by Mrs. Baker and members, caused much laughter. The music for dancing was played by Mrs. F. Meale and Mrs. Hyland. Supper was served by the committee.
On Saturday last Mrs. H. Webster entertained the Progressive Club members at her home at Otahuhu. The competition winners were:—Clock golf, Mrs. Wallace; croquet, Miss Bevege; quoits, Mrs. Jackson; taipo, Miss Bevege. Song numbers were given by Mrs. Jackson, with Miss Bevege at the piano, and pianoforte aolot by Mias Bevege.
