WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the Auckland Star"' this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— Light to moderate south-west to southerly winds prevailing. Weather for the most part fair to fine, but a few isolated showers are probable, more especially in western areas. Cool night, but mild day temperatures. Seas slight to moderate. A shallow westerly depression crossed the Dominion last night and is being followed by some slight secondaries. An anti-cyclone of considerable intensity is advancing across the central Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications s are for moderate southerly winds, with a few isolated showers, but manly there is a prospect of fair weather. The barometer has a rising tendency. Seas smooth to moderate. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, south-west, moderate; sea, moderate; weather, fine, cloudy and hazy; visibility, fair; barometer, rising.
