SUB-COMMITTEES SET UP.

WELLINGTON", Tuesday
Rugby football in New Zealand is to be the subject of special reports, covering both the administrative and the playing sides of the game. The question of the standard of play, as well a* such mutters as methods oi selection and the playing of trials, also arose during a meeting at Wellington of the New Zealand Rugby Football Council, and it was as a lesult of discussion at that meeting that a decision was made to have special reports furnished.
It was decided that the following gul>committees should be set up to report to the next meeting:—Playing aspect: Messrs. E. McKenzie (convener). V. R. Meredith, A. A. Adams, W. J. Wallace and J. T, Burrows. Administrative aspect, including trials and selections: Messrs. S. S. Dean (convener), J. 8. Prendeville. D. M. Speddinff, V. R. Meredith and F. T. Glasgow.
It -was repotted by Mr. Ari.ims. a member of the New Zealand selection committee, that the selectors intended to furnish a report.
A decision was also made that all unions should be invited to report on the playing of the game in their respective districts. A special committee, comprising Messrs. Dean. G. A. Maddison, Prendeville and Adams, was appointed to report on all aspects of primary and post-primary school Rugby football.
