ROAD ACCIDENT SEQUEL.

WIDOW'S CLAIM FOR £3000.

WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Before the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, a claim for £3000 damages was commenced in the Supreme Court today. Ada Payne was the plaintiff, whose husband, Henry Payne, was struck and killed on' the Kutt Road on the night on June 21 by a car owned by Dunstan John Burney, of Wellington, glass merchant.

It was alleged that the accident was due to the negligence of a mechanic, who was driving with the owner's consent. The defence was that if it could be proved that Payne met his death a* a result of the «»ilision it was - contributed to by negligence in crossing the road.
