PRICE INCREASES.

NUMBER ONE GRADE. SUPERIOR MALTING BARLEY. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, ths day. Increases in the prices of superior malting barley, No. 1 grade, were announced by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, in thf» course of a. statement to-day. Central Otago increases by 4Jd per bushel on trucks, and a similar increase is being made in the case of Southland barley. The increaee for the Canterbury and North Otago districts amounts to lOid, and for the Marlborough and Nelson districts to 7Jd, the latter applying to the price of grain in etore. The new prices will be:—Central Otago 5/4J, Southland, Canterbury and North Otago 4/10J, both on trucks, and Marlborough and Nelson 4/10}, in store. The Minister also announced that the Barley Advisory Committee had the matter of amending the grading standards for barlev in hand.
