AUCKLAND POWER BOARD. GOVERNMENT MEASURE. <By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON", this day. "It is a Government measure and will be made - the law of the country," said the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. ,T. Savage, to-day, after a meeting of the caucus, which had before it the Auckland Electric Power Dill, which provides for an nlteration in the franchise, nlaoing it on the municipal election basis. "The Auckland Electric Power Board ix tlie only hoard of its kind elected under special franchise, and it will he placed in the position of every other power board in the Dominion," atided Mr. Savage.
