British Fishing Industry Concerned. YABMOUTH MASS MEETING. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON', October 18. More than 1000 representatives of the herring fishing industry, including fishermen, Scots fisher girls, arid the fishing ports, met members of Parliament at a mass meeting at Great Yarmouth. They appealed to the Government for funds to save the industry which they claimed was doomed by increased costs of production and subsidised foreign competition. Clyde fishermen, In supporting the Yarmouth appeal, demand the abolition of the Herring Industry Board. They claim that it has failed to obtain markets and that its restrictions are useless.
