RESEARCH WORK.
DOCTOR'S IMPRESSION/
DEVELOPMENTS COMING. Important developments in the field of radiology are expected by Dr. A. A. Tenncnt. who returned to New Zealand by the Niagara yesterday afternoon. While in America he had attended the conference of the College of Radiologists, antl had been much impressed with what he saw. The development of the X-ray, from the diagnostic and the therapeutic angles would plav an important part in the treatment of cancer and other diseases, he sai<l. A great deal of research work was being done in this direction. Dr. Tennent also attended the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where, he said, good work was still being done. An Ancklander. Dr. Oaudin. was on tho research staff there. A good deal of work was being ddne there on the problems of infantile paralysis, and a diagnostic and therapeutic serum was being prepared. Thi«, it waa hoped, would prove an important development. Dr. Tennent was medical officer with the New Zealand Contingent at the Coronation, and he expressed the opinion that physically the New Zealanders compared very favourably with other units. It was indicative that only two contingents were able to parade at full strength on Coronation Dav one was the New Zealanders and the other the Kbodeeians.
