SEASON'S WARMEST DAY.

Winter's icy blasts seem to have forsaken Auckland, for a brief time at least, since the city yesterday experienced the warmest day this season, the maximum temperature being 70 degrees. The cooling element was supplied by a light northerly wind, and taken all round the weather was ideal. No rain has fallen in Auckland since October 1. But perhaps it is only hanging off until Labour Day!
