MANAGEMENT OF GAME
AWARD TO W. TITTLETON.
THE OUTSTANDING SENIOR.
At a meeting of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, it was announced that a special trophy for the season's outstanding senior grade player had been awarded to W. Tittleton, of the Richmond Club. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, who presided, said that the award was made
by the donor, Mr. J. F. W. Dickson,
Tittleton has shown consistently good form throughout the season, and gained his place in the Teste with the Kangaroos.
A decision was reached to support the proposal to fix a transfer fee of £25 for playeiis going from one League to another. The object of the rule is to prevent a strong League from taking players from weaker centres.
It was resolved to hold a conference on October 27 to deal with suggestions for the improvement of the organisation of the game for next season. Delegates to the conference will represent the junior management committee, two delegates from each junior club, and the Senior Clubs' Officers' Association.
The New Zealand Rugby League wrote stating that no finality had been reached regarding the suggested conference of referees. The New Zealand Referees' Association, however, recommended that one of its representatives should attend important interprovincial matches in order to bring about uniformity N in the interpretation of the rules.
Thanks were extended to the donors of the Stormont Shield for their generosity in presenting a set of medals with the trophy, which was won by the Marist Club as a result of their defeat last Saturday of Richmond in the champion of champions contest. The Marist Club was congratulated on its success. The services of the Referees' Association a.nd Appointments Board were
acknowledged in a resolution of thanks, And it was decided to place on record the work of Mr. W. E. Simpson, secretary «f the Referees' Association, who is transferring to Wellington.
