NARROW ESCAPE.

CAR CRASHES INTO POLE. (From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. While travelling along the Main South I Road a mile south of Xgaruawahia this afternoon, Dr. G. Gruenvald, a veterinary surgeon practising in Hamilton, swerved hie car to avoid a dog. The vehicle struck an electric light pole, which snapped off near the bottom. The car landed on the butt of the pole, with the top portion of the pole lying over the hood. One wheel was torn off. Dr. Gruenvald, who was alone at the time, was not injured, but had a narrow escape. The electric light service was not interrupted.
