AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION.
INCREASED MEMBERSHIP,
A total net increase in membership of 3587. giving a total of 22,624 for the year ended August 31. i* revealed in the report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Automobile Association (Auckland) next week. The income and expenditure account shows a surplus of £2100 after full provision has been made for depreciation of vehicles and equipment.
Accumulated fund's at the end of the year stood at £1»,4tt8, the chief source of revenue being from annual subscriptions, which supplied £21,848.
The establishment of an agency at Fiji, now boasting a membership of 131, is mentioned in the report. During the year the city patrol was increased by one member and the areas were replanned, patrols being stationed at Te Aroha and Whakatane. The staff now comprises 37, of whom 17 are patrols. There are agencies in 40 towns -and solicitors in 29 towns. Sign-posting was continued, 1842 new signs being erected.
