PLUNKET SOCIETY.

NORTHCOTE JUNIOR LEAGUE. An enjoyable afternoon was spent on Saturday at the party organised by the Northcote Plunket committee for the ltiombers of the Truby King Junior League, hold in the returned soldiers' clubrnom. The large gathering included the Northcote president, Mrs. Archlo Campbell, Miss J. Chapman, n iirH« in charge at Auckland, Misa Jessie liiuwll, Northcote Plunket nurse, Mrs. R. Martin, Mayoress of Northcote, representatives of Plunket mothers, besides the members of the committee and 00 juveniles.

An instructive talk by Miss Chapman wan demonstrated with * cot and nimi.ll doll (named Victoria Plunket), and garments which had been made at Auckland and exhibited at the Canadian Mothercraft Exhibition. The speaker was handed a bouquet of red and white flowers (the Plunket colours) by Miss Moire, Lethbridge. Spring flowers were also given to Nurse Bursell by Miss Jean Holdgate, and a shoulder spray to the convener, Mrs. R. E. Cadik'mw, by tlio president, Mrs. A. Campboll.

The programme contributed by the Junior League members comprised items irivi>n by Misses Beverley Snow, Dawn Martin. Kathleen Oppcrman, Shirley Loth bridge. .ft>nn Holdgate, Dawn Minns, Ma renter C'tidness, Olive Christmas, Shirlev Hpeiffht. Nellie Hy.in. Kathleen Opperman. Thelma Sterling and Yolande Cross, Master* Brian Stllwell and Ken way. Tim accompaniments were plaved by Mrs. E. Bnrrington Snow and Mrs. J. .r. Ryan. Balloons worn presented to all the children, who also wore coloured paper raps.
