TOW-LINE WAS CUT.

ENDEAVOUR OUTRODE STORM. LONDON, October 1. A tumultuous welcome was given to the yacht Endeavour T. on her arrival at Gosport to-day in tow after voyaging to the l.sle of Wight from America unaided. In describing the severance of the craft from her escort in midAtlantic during a hurricane, Captain Heard revealed that at the height of the storm the tow-line kept her bows under water. The captain feared that the battering by the seas would destroy the yacht, so he decided to cut the cable. He and another man when engaged on the task were swept overboard but managed to grasp the deck lines and were hauled on board with difficulty. They were not injured. The yacht rode out the storm and after that had a good passage.
