Tho council urges a world-wide boycott of Japanese goods, tho embargo to include oil for Japan, and calls on the British Government to, cancel diplomatic relations with "this bloody and barbaric Power." Shame and sorrow at the Japanese aerial atrocities, as not representing the npirit and desire of the Japanese people, wan expressed in an appeal to Japanese militarists to renounce such measures in a letter to "The Times" sent jointly by the Archbishop or Canterbury and live other Church heads. ECONOMIC PRESSURE. BRITISH RESOLUTION. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, Octobcr 1. Mr. Neville Chamberlain and Mr. Eden, •lid the Chinese and Japanese Ambassadors have been furnished with a resolution by the national executive of the Council of Action under the chairmanship of Mr. Lloyd George, associating itself in tho condemnation of Japan nnd urging concerted economic pressure against it. The League Council is asking the Assembly to increase the present credit of £15,000 allotted for humanitarian work in China.
