He baa galloping ability, but may require some education iu public before he can be at his best. Ho far ho has had very little barrier practice. lie is to compete in the five furlongs event on Monduy at Pacroa. The gelding by Raceful from a St. Paul muro in H. Eva's stable is now in active commission, and in the matter of conform ■nation is shaping up nicely. So fur he has only been allotted slow work. Queen Lu, trained by M. Lipsey, is now very solid in condition, and her work is of a consistent nuture. She is to be raced on the Hat at the Taumarunui meeting on the sccond day. Mr. R. llines' Lucullus marc Caviare has foaled a filly foal to Musketoon, thus a lull-sister to Rona Bay. A yearling fullbrother, a very tine colt, has lutcly been handed over to Mr. Colin Anderson, of Auckland, who owned Caviare, consequent upon an nrrungement that he was to have one foal from the mare, who now belongs to the Mountain View stud at To Atoha West. Kingcraft and Miss Brierly are working steadily. The lutter went off slightly after the Avondale meeting, but is now feeding satisfactorily again. Kingcraft is considerably better for his racing efforts and is quite an improved juvenile.

OFFER FOR FLOOD TIDE. NEGOTIATION'S PROCEEDING. SYDNEY, October 1, A Randwick trainer states that an offer ins boyn made for the New Zealand galloper Flood Tide In the vicinity of £2000. Negotiations for the purchase began yesterday when a cablegram wan received Irom New Zrulnnd stating that the bedrock price for Flood Tide was £7000. Peiimond, who was an acceptor for tomorrow's Derby, is reported to be lame ami may not start.
