WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga. Light to moderate but increasing south-west to westerly winds. Weather for the most part fair to line, but some scattered showers are probable, more especially in western areas. Seas moderate but rising on the west coast, slight to moderate on the east coast. An anti-cyclone is located over the north-west Tasman Sea, while a series of westerly depressions extends from southern Australia across the south Tasman Sea to southern New Zealand. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 8 a.m. this day:— The indications are for light to moderate west to south-westerlies, freshening. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, but occasional showers, more especially in western areas. Barometer unsteady. Seas smooth to moderate. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Guif was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, west-south-west, fresh; sea, moderate; weather, cloudy, with occasional showers; visibility, fair; barometer has a falling tendency.
