POPE'S RING LOST.

INCONVENIENCE IN VATICAN. (Received 11 a.m.) VATICAN CITY, September 17. The historic "Fisherman's Ring," which is placed on the finger of newlyelected Popes, was among the £2000 in pold and valuables stolen by a burglar from the chamberlain's apartments a week ago. Presumably it has been melted down. Loss of the ring is most inconvenient as it must be used in sealing briefs, so that those receiving decorations from the Pope will have to wait until it is replaced.
