A TAME DRAW.

N.Z. V. HAMPSHIRE. County "Declares"; Dominion Plays Out Time. MOLONEY AND DONNELLY TOP. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 24. The cricket match, at Bournemouth, between Hampshire and New Zealand resulted in a draw.

When play resumed this morning the county had one wicket down for 49 in the second innings (following a lead of 97 on the first). Moore "declared" when the board read 171 for five wickets. Requiring 268 to avert defeat, the Dominion team had lost half their men for 165 when stumps were pulled. New Zealand lacked the capacity to score quickly enough to force a victory in three hours against accurate bowling and active fielding. While Vivian was attacking vigorously the Dominion seemed likely enough to win. However, three wickets fell in quick succession after lunch and New Zealand's chances receded. Moloney and Donnelly were associated in a good stand, but the scoring rate fell behind the clock and the match finished tamely in a draw.

The Notts County Cricket Club passed a resolution suspending Harold Larwood for the remainder of the season on account of a "breach of discipline." The chairman of the club, Mr. Douglas McCraith, declined to give details. Larwood, however, says that after treatment for an injury he was told to report for practise but was unable to do so and went to the ground on August 21 to report fit. He anticipated he would be selected to play against Essex, but his name was not on the team-sheet. He was told to practise with the ground staff at the nets for the rest of the week. "Except at the beginning of a season I have never practised with the ground staff at the nets," stated Larwood. "I declined." He adds that he intended to report again to-day, but he received a letter suspending him.
